On June 24, 2016, State Representative Kevin Corlew received the endorsement of the Missouri Right to Life Political Action Committee for the primary election being held August 2, 2016. Missouri Right to Life is the leading pro-life advocacy organization statewide.
As stated in the announcement letter, the endorsement represents Missouri Right to Life's confidence that Corlew is “the candidate in [the House District 14] race who will be an effective voice for the protection of innocent human life.”
"I am proud to receive the endorsement of the Missouri Right to Life," Corlew said. "My wife and I have been blessed to adopt three wonderful children, and we know first hand how precious each life is."
Throughout his time in the legislature, Kevin Corlew has been a strong defender of innocent life. For example, he has supported legislation to require annual health inspections at abortion clinics. He co-sponsored a bill to establish the Unborn Child Protection from Dismemberment Abortion Act, which would have prohibited dismemberment abortions unless necessary to prevent a serious health risk to the unborn child’s mother.
Last year, when videos emerged showing that Planned Parenthood had engaged in selling baby parts, Corlew called for the defunding of Planned Parenthood in Missouri. In the fall he stood with Northlanders in protest of the organization. And this spring, Corlew joined the General Assembly in passing a state budget that eliminated state funding of Planned Parenthood in Missouri.
"I will continue to fight to protect the lives of the vulnerable in our society," said Corlew, "especially those who are unborn, disabled, or elderly."
